Programme Huro (pour l'historique voir Bulletin SFDP info n° 21). Le Silsotchigre Wildlife Rescue Centre fait son chemin, et nous accueillons maintenant six Gibbons Hoolock de l'Ouest. La clinique, le centre de réhabilitation, notre équipe, le programme en lui-même tout cela a évolué vers une structuration de plus en plus professionnelle et les résultats sont au rendez-vous. D'autres ouvertures sont, par conséquent, devenues possibles et nous souhaitons maintenant travailler sur d'autres fronts également, notamment la protection du parc national de Nokrek, et le développement eco-touristique en partenariat avec l'association YABOUMBA. Je ne peux finir cette introduction sans mentionner la perte de Bilbo qui était notre premier recueil et le vide immense que nous laisse la disparition du Docteur Sonia Tortchanoff qui avait été à l'initiative de beaucoup de choses au sein du programme et avait permis les premières installations du centre. Une chose est certaine, elle restera dans nos cours et dans nos mémoires comme " un ange au-dessus du programme ". lire la suite

From August 12 to 15, the third international EFP Meeting will be held in Zürich, Switzerland. Students are eligible for a travel subsidy by the EFP, and for prizes for the best posters and oral presentations. The abstracts will be published in Folia Primatologica. The 3rd annual Primatology, Wildlife Ecology, and Conservation Field School which will be held from August 2nd – 27th, 2009 in Kenya. This field school is a joint effort of Rutgers University, the National Museums of Kenya, and the Kenya Wildlife Services. L'Association Paniscus (Conservation du Bonobo (/Pan paniscus/) et de la Biodiversité de son Environnement) a pour projet de se rendre en RD du Congo pour constater par elle-même de ce qui peut être envisagé en termes de partenariat avec une ONG locale afin d'oeuvrer concrètement à la conservation des bonobos vivants en lisière forêt/savane à l'ouest de la RDC.
